EVENTS: Resounding success for APSCo training events

Posted: Tue 14 Jul 2009

Recruitment training and performance development specialist Lander Associates recently joined forces with APSCo and 1st Option to co-sponsor and deliver an innovative series of free training events designed exclusively for APSCo members.

The enormously successful events, which were recently held in London and Manchester, were attended by over 80 people. The focus for recruitment consultants was on achieving high performance in an underperforming market whilst for team leaders and managers, the theme was leading teams within an underperforming market.

Ann Swain, Chief Executive of APSCo said: "We were thrilled that Lander Associates, in conjunction with 1st Option, created the opportunity and provided the expertise for APSCo members to receive clear, free of charge, expert guidance and training in a difficult market."

Delivered by a team of senior trainers from Lander Associates, the sessions challenged those who attended to work more creatively and effectively by strengthening relationships, leading under pressure and keeping a winning attitude. They also reinforced the message that combining innovation with the right skills, and more importantly the knowledge of how to use these skills in the current marketplace, is essential if recruitment businesses want to survive when times are hard and prepare to grow again when conditions improve.

Unanimously positive delegate feedback included Simon Davies from NES IT who said: "It is the only course I have been on in 15 years that kept my attention 100% of the time. All the trainers delivered some excellent ideas and a very 'positive feeling' which I hope I can make good use of.”

Marc Morris, Head of Sales and Marketing at 1st Option summarised the events by adding: “Having spoken to most delegates who attended the courses, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. I congratulate them for adopting such an open mind in this tough market - they will undoubtedly reap the future rewards they deserve.”
